Construction Career Days is the construction industry's primary means of communicating important employment information to high school students. Events have grown in popularity and generated helpful partnerships that in conjunction with a grant for the New York State Department of Transportation resulted in the events being expanded to even more locations across the state.

Each event varies from one to two days and is a hands-on demonstration designed to introduce youth to the many opportunities available in the construction industry.

The events are the work of a steering committee comprised of state and federal agencies, construction associations, private contractors and local labor unions. In 2007, NYS LECET staff participated in Construction Career Days in Albany, Rochester, Buffalo, Ithaca, Syracuse, Finger Lakes and Westchester.
