LOCAL UNION 7, 1358 AND 589 MERGE TO FORM NEW LOCAL UNION 785

Local Unions 7, 1358 and 589 have formed a new union that will be named Local 785 with the headquarters located in Ithaca. The satellite offices of 785 will be located in Elmira and Binghamton and will be linked together with a computer network system that will allow the 785 unions officers and staff to work together.

The Ithaca union hall will serve as the headquarters of Local 785 and will be staffed by Business Manager David Marsh. The Binghamton union hall will be staffed by Business Agent W. John Shaffer. The Elmira union hall will be staffed by Business Agent Tom Norconk.

Local 785 will cover 7 counties and townships in two other counties in the Southern Tier of New York. The counties are Broome, Chemung, Cortland, Schuyler, Steuben, Tompkins, Tioga, and townships in Chenango and Delaware Counties.
