40,000

The New York State Laborers’ Union represents over 40,000 members employed in the construction industry and other fields throughout the state. Our members are organized into more than 24 local unions and 5 district councils. We are a proud affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA).

  • “Hiring LIUNA members means signatory contractors have the best, most diverse employees working on their job sites. LIUNA’s extensive training program is cutting-edge, modern and aligned with emerging industry trends and advancements. Graduates of the training program excel at applying the newest technology to all projects. LIUNA-trained laborers are in a class all their own.”

    Earl R. Hall
Executive Director Construction Employers Association of Central NY
  • “Everything you learned in the classes, you were applying that. And what you didn’t know, there were so many other laborers that were showing you...I’ve loved it ever since I’ve been in.”

    Solomon Davis
    Laborers Local 17 Apprentice
  • “It is definitely life changing through the Apprenticeship program. Being that I didn’t know much about this type of work until I went through classes and dealt with it hands-on. That definitely helped me throughout my career.”

    Tori-Anne Gaeta
