Laborers union donates to Binghamton Boys and Girls Club after reported theft

A local laborers union is giving back to the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton after the Club reported a theft of their lawn care equipment last month.

Members of Labors Local 785 were at the club Monday to donate new lawn care equipment as a part of their LIUNA Cares philanthropy program

Hundreds of dollars worth of equipment were stolen from the club last month, club staff told 12 News. Aside from using it on club property, club staff use it for their own business.

Club executive director MaryBeth Smith said she was thankful for the donation.

“This is a wonderful place, this is a great organization, and we’re going to be able to do a bit better now, the business will do better, because of what they are doing for us today,” Smith said.
