NEW YORK STATE LABORERS UNION SUPPORTS HIGH-SPEED RAIL IN NYS, MEMBERS READY TO GET TO WORK

“The concept of high-speed rail in New York State has long been explored, discussed and debated,” said Patrick Purcell, Executive Director, New York State LECET and Greater New York LECET. “But despite the expansive list of merits it would afford all New Yorkers, it has remained stalled – until now. We commend Governor Cuomo for not only revisiting this topic, but injecting new life and perspective into examining how to make high-speed rail a reality. Our highly-skilled laborers span from New York City to Buffalo, and they are ready to get to work as soon as the project comes to fruition – and we firmly believe that it will. We look forward to working with our state’s leaders to put the best of the best on the job, and to proudly attending a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off what will surely be a transformative and historic endeavor.”
