NEW YORK STATE LABORERS’ UNION ON VP HARRIS’ BUFFALO ADDRESS:

WE’RE READY TO BUILD.

Following Vice President Kamala Harris’ remarks in Buffalo today regarding the administration’s Inflation Reduction Act, the New York State Laborers’ LECET reaffirms the union’s commitment to building New York’s infrastructure. The New York State Laborers Union has been on the frontlines in Buffalo and beyond, fiercely advocating for a just transition as New York State outlines its climate and renewable energy goals, and legislation that designates funding to much-needed infrastructure projects – projects that create construction jobs for our highly-skilled, trained and capable membership.

“As Vice President Harris detailed today, the Biden-Harris administration has been in overdrive passing legislation that will benefit our country and New Yorkers for generations to come,” said Patrick Purcell, Executive Director, New York State Laborers’ LECET. “Passing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act means our state’s roads, bridges, drinking water systems and clean energy technology and transmission will be built and repaired by New York’s union workforce at solid, family-sustaining wages. This federal funding helps lead our state into the future by making it safer, cleaner, accessible and sustainable – all while creating construction jobs for the hardworking men and women who build our state. The Laborers are proud to cement our place in this transformative period of New York’s history and as always, we are ready to build.”
